Voici ce concept de Buro Ole Scheeren avec la création d'un cinéma flottant. Situé au bord de l'île de Yao Noi en Thaïlande, ce projet "The Archipelago Cinema" donne envie de passer quelques heures devant cet écran en plein air, le tout dans un cadre féérique. Plus d'images dans la suite.

First a air-raid shelter, later converted in to a prison, then a warehouse and now the home to the creative couple Christian Boros and Karen Lohman. He is owner of an advertising agency, and she is an art historian. The space consists of five floors; they use the penthouse floor for living and exhibiting their vast contemporary-art collection and rest of the floors are exhibition space. The walls are in concrete, with visible shuttering marks; it gives a rough expression and let the art be in focus. To contrast the coldness of the concrete they have used limestone floors in a warmer finish. I think this penthouse is a great example of how concrete can be a base or like a canvas for any style. Often we see and associate concrete with a very minimalistic and clean style, this one proves the opposite. With the warm natural tones, designer pieces, elements of wood and of course the collection of art it is more in a direction modern eclectic.

Casa do Conto (House of Tales in Portuguese) a concept hotel in Cedofeita, Porto, has had a rocky start. The charming XIX Century Oporto House was lovingly restored by Pedra Liquida Architects, after which a fire virtually destroyed the building just days before its reopening. A new building was built on the site with the memory of the old structure in mind. The architects thought of the new skin as a type of 'fossil' of the historic. The project references the ornate nature of its predecessor with abstract textures and texts applied to concrete surfaces.
Apart from the textured surfaces, the design was approached with restraint and the resulting spaces seem appropriately quiet and poetic. The overall design manages to have a strong identity of its own while subtly referencing the site's turbulent background.
Continuing his fascination with the most rudimentary of building materials – the Kapla-like wooden block – Kengo Kuma has completed what is probably the world's most idiosyncratic Starbucks Coffee in Tokyo.
